Charlie has been working on land and sea his entire life. Raised on the family's fifth-generation ranch in Wyoming he was at home working with cattle and wide open spaces. He has unparalleled first hand experience with production agriculture, timber harvest, subsurface development, water rights, and conservation agreements. As responsible broker of Powers Land Brokerage, LLC he oversees an international footprint and is a licensed real estate broker in Wyoming, Montana, Georgia, Idaho, and Alaska. Charlie has personally negotiated over 500 transactions totaling over a billion dollars in value. He leads a team that can navigate sales from aircraft FAA requirements to charter boat NOAA permits to ranch appurtenances . Client focused, he helps Buyers and Sellers achieve goals such as tax management, legacy planning, lifestyle change, and business transition. His bachelors and masters degrees in college were paid from 4-H and FFA projects, fence building contracts, and commercial fishing deckhand work. After owning a Kodiak fishing lodge and a commercial fishing operation he was then recruited to be Vice President for Koniag, Inc., an Alaska regional native corporation. He was entrusted with 300,000 surface acres and 800,000 subsurface acres with 120 mmbf of annual timber sales, a $60M in conservation easement, a large-scale armor stone quarry, conveyance of ANILCA mineral acres, and the construction of its corporate headquarters and the Kodiak Brown Bear Center.
Charlie and his family live in Sheridan, Wyoming where the home office is located. His wife Kathy, is the principal of Big Horn Elementary. Together, they have two boys one of whom is a First Luetinent in the United States Air Force and the other very accomplished in sales of solar systems in Idaho. Charlie has reputation for being honest, hardworking, and determined. Charlie is an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He always puts his client's interests first and works with community and industry to move important initiatives forward. He believes in an honest day’s work and the value of a sincere handshake.
