Pilots

The Tikchik Pilots are all veteran Tikchik aviators with many years of flying bush planes in Alaska. Tikchik is an FAA certified Air Charter service. Our Pilots have training each year, both ground school refresher courses and recurring flight training and FAA check rides.

Steve Larsen, Charlie Later, Mike Callahan, and Bud Hodson pilot three DeHavilland Beavers and one Cessna 206 on floats. Classic Alaskan aircraft built to access the region’s only by air places where the fishing is off the charts and Alaska’s wildlife is on full display. Whether it means flying extra miles to show you a grizzly bear or flying that extra trip to achieve a special fishing request, the pilots are there to make your trip memorable.

Tikchik’s aircraft are maintained according to FAA guidelines for commercial carriers. As a commercial air carrier, Tikchik is required to have 100-hour inspections and all parts must be approved for commercial carriers and comply with all of our operation specifications, which have been approved by the FAA.
